It has traveled with us for over 15 years now, in all our military moves but he has not researched its value. Its ok, just imagining that it's worth A LOT keeps him going. :DAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5115519612519046705.post-72506032352066288512008-06-12T18:54:00.000-04:002008-06-12T18:54:00.000-04:00Once when I was about six, I found a sweater, wrap...Once when I was about six, I found a sweater, wrapped in plastic as if it had never been opened, in a dumpster behind our house in Okinawa, Japan. My sister's birthday was coming up, so I decided to give it to her as a present. Of course, when I gave it to her, the question came from my mother, "where did you get this sweater?" You see, I wasn't old enough to drive and we lived on an Air Force Base miles away from the Base Exchange, so there wasn't a way for me to buy anything, even if I did have money, which I didn't. Being young and "innocent" I replied with the truth..."in the dumpster out back." The whole place erupted in laughter, but I don't think my sister found it so funny. When she opened it, I realized why the previous owner had thrown it away...the sleeves were not the same length and it was quite possibly the ugliest sweater I've ever seen.

- Doc -

Ryan T. We (the group of dumpster diving women aka military wives) went over to officer's housing in the dark of night and came back with a nice haul.

I still have that corner hutch but got rid of the military husband 9 years ago.

BTW, I'm Betz from my Bohemian Hippie blogAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5115519612519046705.post-15981918328854500892008-06-06T01:08:00.000-04:002008-06-06T01:08:00.000-04:00When I was only teenager I was looking through the...When I was only teenager I was looking through the trash and found U.S. Army canteens and krations, mess kits.
I was the cools kid in town that was in East Boston before the airport.
dadcer@gowebco.comAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5115519612519046705.post-23437190327462160332008-06-05T21:26:00.000-04:002008-06-05T21:26:00.000-04:00i actually found twenty bucks in my room's bin onc...i actually found twenty bucks in my room's bin once, looking around for a paper that i thought i had thrown away. it was aawweessoommee...HI SHELAH!!! hi mary :D miss you at karate...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5115519612519046705.post-35889702721669496612008-06-04T19:50:00.000-04:002008-06-04T19:50:00.000-04:00I have told you that we furnished our first house ...I have told you that we furnished our first house together from toss out furniture. Our friends would even grab stuff for us. Up until about a year ago, I still owned this really cool table that came from a trash pile.

The big cat tower that is home to Princess Sagwa is a garbage find.
